Why Choose Stasis Rehab for Concussion Management

Concussion recovery is not a single-discipline process. It touches the physical, cognitive, emotional, and visual systems simultaneously. Our clinic brings the right combination of practitioners together in one place so your recovery does not fall through the gaps.

Multidisciplinary Team Under One Roof

Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and chiropractic care are all available at Stasis Rehab. Your practitioners communicate and coordinate your care so every aspect of your recovery is addressed together.

Physiotherapy-Led Assessment

Our physiotherapists assess and treat the physical symptoms of concussion, including headaches, neck pain, dizziness, and balance issues. Where appropriate, vestibular rehabilitation is incorporated through our dizziness and vestibular rehab program.

Occupational Therapy for Cognitive Recovery

Our occupational therapist assesses the cognitive and functional impacts of concussion, including effects on work, school, and daily life. This is a critical part of recovery that is often overlooked in single-discipline programs.

Return-to-Life Planning

We help you decide when and how to return to school, work, sport, or daily activities in the safest and most efficient way possible. This is a structured, staged process, not a guess.

Insurance & Direct Billing

We direct bill most major extended health plans, including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Green Shield Canada, Desjardins, and Manulife.

If your concussion resulted from a motor vehicle incident or a workplace injury, coverage may be available through ICBC or WorkSafe BC. We recommend contacting us directly to discuss your situation and confirm coverage before your first visit.

I came to see Rob for the first time today - I’ve seen three other physios before throughout my athletic life - and was very impressed with his knowledge. He did a thorough assessment of my injury was able to immediately determine which muscle groups needed to be fixed and which exercises to recommend to do it. He sent me home with some resistance bands to work on the exercises at home and emailed a couple of demonstration videos to remind me of how the exercises work. I had a really good experience and highly recommend him!

The appointments were in relation to a post ankle injury for my child. Rob, the physiotherapist, was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and kid friendly. He was good at teaching the recommended exercises. After a few sessions, we were well equipped with the tools to continue with maintenace on our own. Good clinic overall!

I've been seeing Rob for a long time and I can say that he helped me a lot to get through my aches and pains. he goes above and beyond, even though I come for a specific area he find ways to make sure that after the said treatment i feel great and relieved from Pain. He is very accommodating, respectful and definitely very knowledgeable of his craft. Once you experience the therapy that he provides I am sure that you will come back to book more appointments with him. The clinic is very clean, the staff in the front desk is very helpful, kind and always with a big smile. i will keep coming back for sure.
Amazing clinic with fantastic staff! I was beyond impressed with the services provided. Two weeks after my father’s total knee replacement, the surgeon had told my dad that he was going to have to work really hard to obtain positive results and was concerned about the limited progress my father had made in his recovery. Knowing that my dad was going to need some extra help to reach his rehab goals, I took him to Stasis Rehabilitation. Within four sessions of seeing Physiotherapist Rob Francis, my dad exceeded his goals and is now enjoying a greater quality of life and is getting back to doing all the activities he loves. Rob was professional, personable and patient with my very stubborn father. I will be recommending Rob to all my family and friends for any of their physiotherapy needs !

Frequently Asked Questions about Concussion Management in Langley

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. See full FAQ →

What is a concussion, and how does it happen?

A concussion is a brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head, or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly. Concussions can happen in sports, motor vehicle incidents, falls, or workplace accidents. You do not need to lose consciousness to have a concussion.

Recovery time varies depending on the individual, the severity of the injury, and how quickly appropriate treatment begins. Many people recover within a few weeks, while others with more complex presentations may take longer. Starting active treatment early, rather than waiting it out, tends to lead to faster and more complete recovery.

Not necessarily. The old advice of complete rest in a dark room is no longer supported by current evidence. While some initial rest is appropriate (48 hours), an active, graduated approach to recovery is now recommended. Our team will guide you through the right level of activity at each stage of your recovery.

Return to activity is a staged process guided by your symptoms and how you are responding to treatment. Your physiotherapist and occupational therapist will work with you to develop a safe, individualized return-to-activity plan so you are not going back too soon or waiting longer than necessary.

Coverage depends on your extended health plan and the source of your injury. Most extended health plans that cover physiotherapy and occupational therapy will cover concussion management sessions. We direct bill most major providers. Contact us to discuss your specific situation before your first visit.

No referral is required to book with our concussion management team. You can book directly. Some insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so check with your provider before your first visit.
